Innovation, quality and aesthetics for exceptional sound experience
The vinyl record brushes from ramar are characterized by their unique brush trim and aesthetics. Six double rows of carbon fibres and two rows of goat hair are used in elaborate handwork.
Ramar brushes combine the best characteristics of the known brush types. The material properties of the individual components as well as the specific arrangement of the bristle rows ensure excellent dust absorption and dissipation electrostatic charge.
Ramar products stand for innovation, quality and aesthetics. With great dedication they develop hi-fi accessories with clear lines and attention to detail. Ramar designs for people who appreciate craftsmanship.
Ramar record brushes are made of solid wood. Currently you can choose between three types of wood – walnut, cherry and ash. The surface is oiled. Therefore it is abrasion-resistant and resistant to dirt. Brush handle and case are milled from a single wooden blank. The bristle cover is made of aluminium and coated with electroless nickel. Electroless nickel coatings are exceptionally wear-resistant, offer very high corrosion protection and are conductive.
The uniqueness of each wooden blank guarantees the individuality and exclusive appearance of each brush. Storing the brush in a case increases its life span and protects carbon fibres and natural goat hair from damage and dirt. For an excellent cleaning result, we recommend to dust the brush before use and at regular intervals with the cleaning pad made of natural felt provided.
During the development phase they put the record brush through numerous practical tests. The six double rows with millions of carbon fibres thoroughly feel every groove and are supported by the two rows of goat hair. Whether fine dust or larger dirt particles – the unique mixture of carbon fibres and goat hair carefully removes every particle from the grooves of the record and picks it up safely.

JEWEL
Following the motto "Innovation, Quality and Aesthetics for exceptional sound experience", Ramar have developed JEWEL - a unique resonance control concept to neutralize unwanted vibrations and resonances on the record, that affect the signal path.
JEWEL has one of a kind asymmetrical design. Although the outer contours of the body, milled from solid stainless steel, are asymmetrical they have achieved a perfectly even weight distribution.
Ramar's three-point approach: The combination of a shaft seal, brass rods and Sorbothane damping ring minimizes the contact points with the turntable and the record while allowing the energy of unwanted mechanical noise and vibrations from the record player and the record itself to be absorbed and neutralized.
JEWEL is mounted to the spindle via a so-called shaft seal. The unique design of the shaft seal ring ensures a stable connection with the spindle. The elastic coating of the ring neutralizes the vibrations, that might be transmitted via the spindle. At the same time, the expandable NBR rubber coating allows JEWEL to be used on a wide variety of record players with different spindles. The material NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) is an elastomer with excellent mechanical properties and has high abrasion and tensile strength. There is a coil spring around the center hole inside the shaft seal that serves to additionally stabilize the spindle mount.
Eight brass rods are suspended independently of each other in the body. As soon as JEWEL is placed on the record, the rods plunge down and gently touch the surface. These transmit some of the resonances inside JEWEL, where they are eliminated. The suspension allows the individual rods to adapt perfectly to any differences in height of the record surface caused by different label structures. This ensures that the contact surface of the brass rods remains constant for all records.
In collaboration with Sorbothane Inc., Ramar have developed a unique Sorbothane damping ring. This was developed according to their specifications for the function, mass and shape of JEWEL and ensures balanced damping of unwanted vibrations and resonances from records.
Sorbothane is a proprietary, viscoelastic polymer. Viscoelastic means that the material has properties of both liquids and solids (elastic materials). Sorbothane combines shock absorption, good memory, vibration isolation and vibration damping. While many materials have only one of these properties, Sorbothane combines all of them in a stable material with a long service life.

“I’ve got to give Ramar credit. In one fell swoop it has elevated the prosaic record-cleaning brush into something far beyond what its humble origins ever suggested it could be. Would I buy one? Darn right I would. Extravagant, okay, but relative to the cost of your LP rig and vinyl library, this is one splurge that is more than worth it. A joy to use, Ramar has taken a tedious chore and made pampering a record collection a red-carpet ritual.”

The Ramar Record Brush, designed and handcrafted by Rangel Vasev in Berlin, Germany is another fine example of what happens when an artisan focuses on making the best.

I use the ramar record brush daily and it is one of the finest and most practical record brushes I’ve have ever used. The magnetically attached top cover can be easily locked with the brush and closes after each use to protect the brush from dust accumulation. The ingeniously integrated needle brush also automatically snaps into place in the box provided. Everything about the ramar follows the simple logic of “a place for everything with everything in its place”. I love how everything is well thought out, including natural, high-quality materials.
