Transparent began building audio and power cables in 1993 in a converted farmhouse in Maine. Now, some 30 years later, they stand at the pinnacle of an industry committed to revealing the potential of every component in a high-end audio or home theater system.
Transparent uses OFHC copper, proprietary low noise dielectric insulating materials, and twisted pair technology in all audio cables. As performance level increases, so does the level of complexity in the use of geometry to stabilize the cable design and to insure optimal performance in the audio range.
Typical cables have electrical properties that make them inherently superior at passing ultra-high frequencies, not audio range signals. Transparent Audio Cables have built-in low pass filter networks that balance out the inherent electrical properties of each cable design to create a better conduit for audio range signals.
The balance of a cable's electrical properties changes according to the length of the cable. Transparent not only optimizes for the cable design itself, it optimizes every network for every length of cable to meet that specific product's design criteria.
Most of our cables are still built by hand, one at a time, by our skilled artisans in Maine. Because music enjoyment in the home is, for many audiophiles, a lifelong pursuit that begins and ends as interest and resources allow, Transparent offers ten different levels of speaker cables and interconnects, from the basic hardwired series to Magnum Opus. And in recognition of the journey, we offers unique trade-in and upgrade opportunities along the way.
As a guide to the journey, Transparent has described the ascending levels of musicality as satisfying, engaging, believable, authentic, realistic, lifelike, ultimate and transcendent. Explore the possibilities in the list below:
